Through Sky Business TV the ACCC has been able to broadcast into regional, rural and remote Australia reaching over 90 towns where small business can meet and network before participating in a live satellite forum with the ACCC, industry associations and professional and consumer groups.

"The use of Sky Business TV has been an effective method to bring our initiative to rural and regional Australians. This program is continuing through 2002."

N.S.W. Nurses Association

When the NSW Nurses' Association strived to reach their 50,000 members to present their "What's a Nurse worth?" campaign, they elected to link up with Sky Racing.

Sandra Moait, General Secretary of the NSW Nurses' Association, welcomed the thousands of members located in the 1000 sky sites, by confirming they were taking part in the biggest meeting of Nurses ever in the state.

Sydney Town Hall

An audience of more than 2000 listened in the main auditorium of Sydney Town Hall with an overflow of another 2000 listeners in the St Andrews courtyard.

At the conclusion of the broadcast, more than 4000 Nurses marched to the Parliament House in Sydney.

"The Sky Racing broadcast for the NSWNA's strike on 18th October, 2001 gave nurses all around the state the opportunity to be part of this very important event. Not just those in Sydney. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive. It was a great success and I would recommend Sky Racing to anyone wanting to link up and inform a widely distributed audience."

Laura MacFarlane
Communications Officer NSW Nurses' Association

The New South Wales Department of State and Regional Development have staged successful breakfast seminars screened via 40 existing Sky Racing sites in New South Wales.

David Koch with NSWDRD panel

More than 1600 small business operators have participated in each broadcast. The audience were able to ask questions via a freecall telephone system.

David Koch hosted the programmes and specialist panellists were nominated for each programme.

"The future of small business is vital for the future of our communities and there has never been a time when managing a small business has been more challenging."

Sandra Nori
MP, Minister for Small Business
